Privately owned Woodenlodge, overlooking the picturesque River Avon, located less than a mile from the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon.

Every room has wonderful views of the river and is tastefully decorated to a high specification. The outside decking area is furnished for dining and relaxing, as you sit and watch the river and surrounding countryside. Kingfishers, woodpeckers and goldfinches are regular visitors and in the meadows lambs and calves can be seen playing. This is a really idyllic location.

A comfortable lounge with TV, SKY+, surround sound system, CD, DVD player. There is a large collection of music and DVDs for your enjoyment and an assortment of books. A patio door opens onto the decking area outside. Views from this room take in the attractive bridge across the river.

This room is furnished with table and chairs and a dresser full of china and glassware. There are wonderful views of the river from the dining room and a door leads onto the decking area.

Fully fitted kitchen with all amenities. The window looks out on the meadow.

A lovely, light bedroom with double bed and fitted wardrobes. An en-suite bathroom leads off this bedroom which has a shower, toilet and basin.

  Stratford-upon-Avon Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, steeped in culture and history. Set in the beautiful rural Warwickshire countryside, on the banks of the river Avon, it is one of the most important tourist destinations in the UK. With easy road, rail and airport access, it is the perfect place for a vacation or short break.

Using the Stratford district as a base, you can enjoy the delights not only of Shakespeare's hometown, but also the nearby surrounding shire counties of Oxfordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire. For theatre goers there is always something showing at the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) with a full set of programmes throughout the year.

Stratford-upon-Avon has a very rich and varied programme of events and activities (see the Town Trail) throughout the year: theatres, arts, music in the parks, river racing, river cruising, walks along the river or simply relax and take in the atmosphere that is Shakespeare's Stratford.

Plan early for Christmas. ' Christmas in Stratford' If you are visiting any time from late November to New Year, there are festivals, street markets etc. Late night opening and the Christmas Market will take place on the four Thursday evenings before Christmas.
