La Briquerie is a very special place previously a period hunting lodge with 2 separate stone cottages (Rose and Vine) it is set in a large landscaped 2 acre garden with a heated swimming pool and both internal games room and external games/play area The cottages combine modern conveniences (walk-in showers, microwaves and other appliances and extras) and are tastefully decorated with antique and period French furniture to help you get that authentic French feel. Family friendly with many extras probided like stair-gates, high-chairs, cots, etc.
Evening meals are available 3 times a week including evening of arrival

Rose Cottage has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) and can sleep 6 people and a baby. The master bedroom has a stunning vaulted ceiling and views over the river as well as an ensuite with shower, wc and basin. There is a further family bathroom serving the other 2 bedrooms with a bath, walk-in shower, wc and basin.
Downstairs it is open-plan with separate areas for the well equipped kitchen (large fridge-freezer, oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, etc. The dinning room has a large table and 6 chairs and there is a separate lounge with an open fireplace. There is a flat screen television with freeview British channels and dvd player. It is comfortably furnished throughout with a mix of old and modern that emphasizes its charm. There is a shared laundry area with washing machine, tumble drier, iron and ironing board - if you find you need it.
Shared facilities with Vine cottage are:
Large in-ground heated swimming pool (10 x 5 metres) with roman end and 1.2 metres deep so ideal for children and games. Lights make it a great night time experience too. The pool area is safety fenced with a childproof gate
Bikes are available and included in the price we have a limited range of children’s bikes too. As La Briquerie is situated adjacent to the river and the long distance cycle path you just need to step outside the gate and start cycling in either direction.
Huge indoor games room with snooker, table tennis, babyfoot, and miscellaneous exercise equipment. Board games, puzzles, toy boxes for all ages make this a popular area. Limited Wi-Fi access is available here too.
Outside there in the paddock there is a play area with a large safety netted trampoline, slide, swings and sand pit.
Other facilities include badminton, boules, Garden Jenga as well as an extensive video and DVD library, books – you will not be bored.
For the water lovers we have a small rowing boat ( plus life-jackets) and fishing equipment for those wanting to get out onto the river. |
