Charming detached country cottage
This traditional Breton holiday cottage is set in a mature garden with open views over the surrounding countryside.
The single storey, two bedroom accommodation has been extensively updated and fully equipped for year round self catering vacation rentals, suitable for couples or small families.

Set in a tranquil location close to a trout river, with a forest nearby, the gite is in an area popular with walkers, cyclists, bird-watchers and anglers, just 3km from the friendly market village of Plessala, with a good selection of restaurants available within a 10km radius.

La Belle Maison was 'christened' by a former mayor of Plessala and combines picture postcard looks with well maintained rental accommodation in a setting that guarantees peace and relaxation.

The cottage is approached through its private garden, the entrance is six easy steps above ground level, once inside the house is all on one level with the rooms accessed off a wide central hallway.

To the right is the spacious kitchen dining-room, which along with the noraml applicances and dining furniture is equipped with lots of cooking utensils, pots and pans, suitable for meal preparation throughout the year.

Opposite is the sitting room which overlooks the garden, it is furnished with an extemely comfortable 3 piece suite and has a wood burner with an additional top box that is good for mulling wine, warming plates or keeping a casserole ticking over.

Behind the sitting room is the double bedroom that benefits from far reaching views to the distant forest in the west. Across the hallway is the twin bedroom which gets the morning sun. Both rooms are large enough to accommodate a travel cot without feeling cramped.

Between the two bedrooms is the shower room, which is exceptionally spacious for this type of property and is fitted with modern sanitary ware and cupboard space.

Outside the grounds face south-west and are an ideal place to enjoy an evening barbecue whilst appreciating wonderful sunsets over the forest, followed by clear night skies full of stars. The garden is not overlooked and is fully enclosed; there is a rotary dryer to one side of it. There is plenty of on-site parking, and guests may use the separately accessed lockable store under the cottage to keep cycles, fishing tackle or golf clubs.

This really is a chill-out zone, somewhere slow down and admire the sunset over the forest then star gaze at clear skies. Relax with a book and a drink, watch the bird life (including green and spotted woodpeckers, common and honey buzzards, kestrels, wood pigeons), or sketch the scenery.

In the surrounding area, cycle around peaceful country lanes spotting Celtic crosses, follow the marked forest paths on foot, bike or join a pony trek, and look out for deer or search for mushrooms.

In the valley, stroll beside the River Lié, cross the ancient stepping stones at 'le Site de la Roche au Cerf' and admire the ongoing restoration of the original water mill, dangle a rod in and catch a trout or hire a kayak nearby at La Prenessaye for a different view of the river.

The route of the former railway line can be accessed at several points locally, forming a network of well signed and maintained cycle/foot paths where the abundant flora and fauna of this area can be observed.
